Case studies

Big European car manufacturer, car engine production

Description: Elimination of corrosion problems in Far East transportation with existing VCI packaging solution.

Activity: Climatic chamber tests with various packaging solutions. Real Far Eastern shipments to check the workability of the new solutions according to climatic chamber tests.

Result: Oil free, corrosion damage free transportation with CorrosionIntercept packaging. There will be the possibility in the future to use returnable packaging and achieve 50% packaging cost cutting.

Steel construction manufacturer in Hungary

Description: The main point was to create the loading unit from excavator's subassembly, and also to maximizing stowage.

Activity: The loading units were placed on top of each other. This is how the approriate fastening was solved by using heavy-duty polyester strapping that guarantee stack stability during transportation.

Result: Maximum utilization of stowage, optimized delivery fee per product, satisfied customer.

The main point was to create the loading unit from excavator's subassembly, and also to maximizing stowage.

International big company’s vehicle part production

Description: There is a direction in automotive industry that requires a 15 years part supply obligation. Therefore the manufacturer was looking for a long-term, corrosion protected packaging solution for electric inverter of hybrid vehicle. The product itself is complex, it contains both metallic and non-metallic parts.

Activity: The long-term packaging solution was designed by transforming the original packaging. By leaving the inner trays, the HPL boxes were changed to plywood crates which were lined with ALU barrier bags. The products were packed in CorrosionIntercept sack one by one.

Result: After corrosion testing with climate chamber the products were tested, and the equipment’s electrical parameters were found to be the same as the original measurement. Therefore, the solution has received the appropriate qualification.

Container delivery for international company

Description: Wooden crates were used to ‘fix’ the goods in the container. These crates have been used only for f space filling rather than securing. Therefore, this load securing method is not comply with any national and international regulations.

Activity: Instead of the previous method, the Cordstrap Floorlash system (Floorlash + one way lashing) and antislip mat was suggested to use for load securing. The purpose was to create a quick, cost-efficient, unified loading method, which suits the international regulations, and also put it into practise.

Result: Damage free transportation, unified loading method, and increasing customer satisfaction.

Long-term storage of machined parts

Description: There is a direction in automotive industry that requires a 15 years part supply obligation. For this reason the machined steel parts manufacturer was looking for a long-term, corrosion protected packing solution.

Activity: The machined parts were placed in KLT crates with VCI paper sheets. Desiccant bags were also placed in each KLT crates. By KLT crates created loading units were shielded with ALU barrier foil to protect goods from humidity.

Result: Since the introduction all parts retained the original condition for two and a half years.

Description: The preserved fruits for overseas export were placed in cardboard boxes or in shrink wrapped paper trays. The fastening was created with self-made iron grids and improper using of dunnage bags in the container.

Activity: Instead of the previous method, the Cordstrap Corner Lash system (one way lashing, corner element) and dunnage bag was suggested for proper goods securing. The purpose was to create a quick, safe, scalable and accurate fastening method. The company’s involved employees have attended the training of goods securing, and the tools were also showed for them.

Result: Not exceeding the previous costs, the products are safely secured which suits the international regulations. The damages have stopped during transportation and loading.
